Are you worried about your dog’s anxiety? Big or small, behaviour issues can have a big impact on your pet’s and your wellbeing.

Dog anxiety can be a niggling issue affecting your dog’s ability to enjoy their life to the fullest, or in some case it can be crippling and affect their wellbeing more deeply. It might also be causing you stress and anxiety too.

  • Is your dog shaking or panicking when they hear fireworks or gunshots?
  • Maybe they run away when you get the lead out and won’t walk any further than the driveway?
  • Do they panic when they are approached by other dogs?
  • Do they run away if approached by a person?
  • Do they hide behind the sofa when you have visitors? Or bark excessively at them through the window or in the house?

  • Do they shake, pant, drool or howl in the car?

Dogs can be anxious about all sorts of things. Some dogs just seem to be born more anxious than others, whilst others have had a bad experience that triggered their anxiety. There are things we can do to help them.

Most people I work with just want them and their dogs to live a healthy and comfortable life.

To do that we need to understand how your dog is feeling, and put together tools to help your dog so they can feel more relaxed, and turn to you for support if they need it…

With any luck our dogs are going to be with us for a good number of years. Putting the time and energy into setting them on a good path and building their resilience now will mean the coming months and years of your dogs life will be easier and happier for it.

You can find out a bit more about my own personal story with dog anxiety issues here. My empathy and practical approaches stem not just from my qualifications and years of working with owners and their pets, but from my own personal experiences.

“Naomi was absolutely incredible with our husky Bella! We discussed a number of issues we were encountering with her and the communication and quality of the training was second to none. We had the opportunity to keep in contact with her at all times and had two catch up calls after our initial consultation that were times that suited us best. She provided handouts with important information and gave us focuses to work on each week too! I cannot say enough good things about Naomi, above all she is a lovely, wonderful person and felt like a friend throughout it all. We will stay in contact for sure. All our love,

– Jess & Family, with Bella

Remote/online training has revolutionised dog anxiety training.

Many people embarking on a behaviour programme end up opting for ongoing online support for their pet’s behaviour issues to reap the benefits of behavioural coaching, input and assessment without the pitfalls of their dogs behaving totally differently in the presence of a visitor, affecting their results, or ability to concentrate.

It also means you can train from the comfort of your own home, no rushing around tidying your house or stressing about a visitor! No tech knowledge required, and we’ll ensure that I am assessing your dog exactly as they would normally behave, and coaching you to work with your dog for times when I’m really not there.

When you are nearing the end of your package, if we feel that you and your pet could benefit from more support we can then move into further sessions depending on your needs.

If face to face sessions are chosen, then travel charges may apply depending on your location.

Staffy dog representing Narla who did anxiety and separation anxiety training

Although we only trained with Naomi for a month, she has built the confidence in our dog Narla after she became terrified of the world. She listened to our problems and gave us guidance to train Narla without overhauling our lifestyle or changing who Narla fundamentally is.

We still have work to do on Narla’s separation anxiety but we have the tools to continue this.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her!

Grace, with Narla
