Reactive dogs may show behaviour such as barking and lunging when they spot another dog.
It can be scary, embarrassing and stressful.
It can make you feel out of control.
Before you brought your dog home you probably didn’t dream about being pulled down the street whenever a dog appears.
Or having to apologise for your dog’s behaviour every time you go out.
You didn’t sign up to walks under the cover of darkness or a military operation whenever you leave the house. Walks often aren’t the same with reactive dogs in tow. But your dog’s reactive behaviour doesn’t define them!
Fortunately there are ways of helping you and your dog get back to more relaxed and enjoyable adventures.
Reactive behaviour in dogs is really common, so you are not alone! So many of us have experienced it. Having someone to talk to who understands what you’re going through, and how to work with your dog, is invaluable.
Advanced package options provide additional follow up and a behaviourist at the ready to answer your questions, celebrate your wins, and review and provide further guidance on your training between sessions.
If you have pet insurance they may reimburse you the fees for our sessions together.
My reactive dogs training experience
Apart from coaching hundreds of clients with reactive dogs, I have directly handled many, many dogs. Either my own adopted dogs, foster dogs or dogs who came into kennels with no owners to work with them. (These dogs needed to learn more polite responses in order to be rehomed).
From Collies to Shepherds, Lurchers to Rottweilers I have been personally responsible for training a range of reactive dogs. Some were frightened and trying to keep the other dogs at bay. Others were super excited to the point where frustration tipped over into aggressive looking responses.
There are so many things we can do to help our reactive dogs to cope so much better.

“Wow what can I say?! We Teach Pets did an absolutely amazing job in helping us train and get to grips with dealing with a VERY nervous dog.
Our little Freddie didn’t have the best start in life which impacted his ability to adjust to new environments, other dogs and people. Thanks to We Teach Pets we now have the knowledge on how to deal with the stressful situations Freddie would get into. Our goal was to be able to go to the pub for some lunch in the garden without having to stop the dogs from fighting, barking, growling and generally getting into hysterics.. as you can see in the photo, WE DID IT!!”

“Naomi is an excellent help for dealing with dogs with reactivity. Naomi has a great understanding of dog behaviours and strategies to ensure they live happy healthy lives.
Using the techniques suggested by Naomi has changed our lives for the better, and I am in awe of the progress we have been able to make.
100% Recommend.”

“Naomi has been a lifesaver for me and Cooper. Referred by my vet for issues with reactivity, with Naomi’s support, guidance and unwavering patience, he’s now a much happier, confident and relaxed boy who’s eager to make friends as opposed to blowing a fuse at the mere sight of an unfamiliar dog even at a distance.
In turn, Naomi has given me more confidence in myself when out on walks which for the first time in over 2 years are now stress free!”
