When a dog struggles with being handled, groomed, or with visiting the vet, it can feel easier to avoid the task altogether. But skipping regular care can make things worse.
- Matted fur turns into painful knots that pull on their skin.
- Nails left untrimmed can crack or grow into their paw pads, or push into their toes, causing discomfort.
- Routine vet checks might be missed, meaning early signs of illness could go unnoticed.
And each stressful experience adds to your dog’s fear, making it harder to resolve in the future.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. With my Low-Stress Handling and Vet & Groomer Visits Course, you’ll gain the tools to transform grooming, handling, and vet/grooming visits into calm, manageable experiences.

FAQ’s
We don’t go to the vets that often, is it really that important?
I think so! Even short, negative encounters can have a big impact on our dog’s mental health. For Max it only took one painful examination to create a huge problem. The earlier we can step in and help our dogs the better. Even if, like me (oops!), you have left it a while, you know what they say: The best time to start was yesterday, the next best time is today!
My dog is just over-excited, not anxious or aggressive, is this going to help?
Yes! So much of what is covered in the course is focused on getting a calm response. In fact, many dogs who are being over-friendly and excitable are often also a bit stressy. The aim of the training is to help your dog to be calm, whatever their behaviour. Dogs who can’t sit still can be just as challenging to manage at the vets as those who are anxious, and this is also covered in the course.
What if my dog has severe anxiety around going to the vets?
The course is designed for all levels of stress and anxiety. You’ll learn how to best work with your individual dog’s needs and make progress towards calmer vet and groomer visits. Max was super reactive at the vets and made huge strides, so I have every faith!
How long does the course take to complete?
The course provides around two hours of content but is broken down into small chunks. You can move through the modules and lessons at your own pace, choosing the ones that are most relevant for you and your dog.
