Client and Service Terms

Thank you for choosing We Teach Pets. These terms outline how our services work, what you can expect, and your responsibilities as a client. Please read carefully before booking.
1. Bookings & Consultations

All consultations require:

Payment in full for the chosen package at time of booking, prior to package starting.

A completed pre-consultation questionnaire.

A completed veterinary referral form (if applicable).

You are responsible for attending your consultation at the agreed date, time, and location (in-person or virtual).
-
“Basic” packages cannot be upgraded to “Premium” packages after the initial consultation.

Details of each package (e.g., Anxiety Basics/Premium, Touch Sensitivity, Separation Anxiety) will be provided on the website or in your booking confirmation. All follow up must be taken within 3 months of the start of the package, or is forfeit.
2. Payment & Refunds

Payment is required at least 7 days before your initial consultation.

No refunds will be given once the package has started.

Cancellations with more than 72 hours’ notice: full refund minus a £50 admin fee.

Cancellations within 72 hours: 50% refund of the total paid.

Missed follow-up sessions without adequate notice will be forfeited.

Continued support beyond your package can be booked via ad hoc sessions.
3. Methods & Safety

All training and behaviour support is positive, force-free, and evidence-based.

Certain training devices (choke chains, prong collars, electric collars, spray collars) are prohibited.

You are responsible for managing your dog safely at all times, including using leads, muzzles, gates, or crates as appropriate.

Children attending consultations must be supervised by a responsible adult.
4. Client Responsibility & Honesty

You agree to provide truthful and complete information about your dog’s behaviour, health, and history.

Failure to disclose relevant information may result in termination of services without refund.

You remain responsible for your pet’s welfare and any consequences arising from actions taken before or during the programme.
5. GDPR & Data Handling

We collect your name, email, phone number, postcode, and any details you provide about your dog to deliver our services.

We may also collect photos/videos for assessment purposes; these are stored securely and not shared without your permission.

Relevant information may be shared with your referring veterinary practice and, if appropriate, other professionals involved in your dog’s care.

Client records are kept securely for up to 7 years, after which they are deleted.

6. Guarantees

Behaviour modification depends on consistent work and management by the owner.

Results cannot be guaranteed and may take time; some behaviours may not be fully resolved due to genetics, history, or environment.
